Junior Product Manager (with BA Experience)
Junior Product Manager (with BA experience) - Job Description
Reports To: Director of Product Management
Location: Preference will be given to applicants based in Calgary and surrounding communities. This is a hybrid role.
About the Job:
Are you early in your product career and hungry to make a real impact? We're looking for a Junior Product Manager to join our team and help shape how live events operate— one great product decision at a time.
In this role, you'll be embedded in the heart of our product organization, working side by side with senior product leaders, engineering, design, and customer-facing teams. You'll get your hands on real problems — gathering requirements, analyzing customer needs, coordinating across teams, and helping turn ideas into features that customers actually love.
If you're highly organized, naturally curious, and energized by fast-moving environments where no two days look the same — we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do:
Understand Customer/Market Needs (Research & Analysis)
- Develop a working knowledge of the industry, customer base, market landscape, and our platform capabilities to provide informed support across all product activities
- Dig into customer feedback from every channel — support tickets, interviews, surveys — and surface the patterns that drive product decisions
- Hunt down competitive intelligence and market trends that sharpen our positioning and keep more senior PMs ahead of the curve
- Mine usage data to uncover what's working, what's not, and where the next opportunity might be hiding
Product (Requirements & Documentation)
- With support of more senior PMs, craft clear user stories and acceptance criteria that give the development team everything they need to build with confidence
- Help administer the product backlog by prioritizing bugs and feature requests; be an advocate for the customer.
- Assist with maintaining product requirements documentation and liaise with our tech comm teams to ensure internal docs and tools are accurate and up to date
- Learn to think two steps ahead by surfacing edge cases and requirement gaps before they become customer headaches
Cross-functional Coordination
- Participate in standups, iteration planning, retrospectives (as required) — help the team stay sharp and aligned
- Keep a pulse on deliverable status across development, design, and QA so nothing falls through the cracks
- Proactively highlight potential blocks to more senior PM’s to prevent unnecessary delays.
Client-facing Work
- Support discovery sessions with clients to help uncover the real needs behind the ask
- Coordinate follow-up communications to keep information flowing and ensure nothing gets lost between conversations
- Provide clients with clear, timely updates on timelines and progress, keeping more senior PMs informed of any issues
Project Management Support
- Keep project timelines accurate and milestones visible so the team always knows where things stand
- Build status reports - clear, concise, and focused on what stakeholders need to know
What You’ll Bring:
- 1-2 years of experience in a product, business analysis, project coordination, or tech role (internships and co-ops count)
- A post secondary degree — or equivalent hands-on experience that tells the same story
- Enough analytical chops to get comfortable with data — whether that's SQL, Excel, or product analytics tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can translate complex ideas into clear, concise language for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Natural organizational instincts — you juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball
- A collaborative mindset and the interpersonal skills to work effectively across development, design, business development and client-facing teams
- Desire to travel to festivals, venues and shows to see new features in the wild and to support customers which may require crawling under tables to run power, setting up Registers, counting t-shirts, cutting down boxes, you name it. It is like being part of a crew.
Bonus points for:
- Hands-on experience with product or project management tools like Github, Jira, Confluence, or similar
- Exposure to Agile or Scrum methodologies — you know what a sprint is and how to keep one healthy
- Experience working directly with clients or external stakeholders
- Exposure to compliance or regulatory concepts relevant to financial products
